August 6, 1980. Long hot day of photographing trains in southern Illinois. But, we've made it as far north as Centralia. Here we see Burlington Norhter SD-7 #6040 working in the yard. The big 6 axle unit is more than likely long gone from the rail scene. Thankfully a photograph can help to make the memories last.
