AMTRAK P30CH passenger engine #721 on the lead of the "SHAWNEE" passenger train at Carbondale, Illinois. Summer of 1980. The SHAWNEE ran between Chicago and Carbondale. Here the train has just arrived. Entire train turned on a local Illinois Central Gulf wye and returns to Chicago. AMTRAK had only a handful of this particular locomotive.
