One site visitor e-mailed the above picture with the caption:

"Found this in grandma's basement and was told it is an insulator. I can't find anything else like it on the net. Do you know what it is?"

ICON member Terry Massey replied just about right away with the answer:

I visited the Glass Fishing Floats site, and it does appear to have photos of objects nearly identical to the one above.
