Fortunately, the finder of this U-923F left it completely intact. It has an insulated copper wire coming in from the left and a heavier copper conductor from the right, both dead ended onto the wire groove. A bare copper wire is used as a jumper between the two conductors. There is a thin copper wire wrapped around one of the dead end loops which may have been another tap off the line. The underside of the insulator is sprayed with a gray electrical paint, probably to seal old chips in the porous dry process porcelain. |
