This crudely made piece is has bold lettering on its skirt with Cauvet's embossing on the dome, just as you see it. Along with most of the rest that I found, this insulator had a lot of iron wire staining on it. Soaking in oxalic acid for a few days and then scouring with cleanser to remove the rest of the residue did the trick! And with rubber gloves and eye protection (please!). This apparently was a very early threaded Brookfield product. I found it along with some other early glass at the owner's premises (see prior posts by me). I found only one threadless and it is light green (a CD 731). I am going to post that one shortly. Tracey Beckham |
