to the Insulator News pageThe CD 718 Thames Glass Works insulator, first reported in this story in "Insulator News" was placed for sale on the auction web site eBay on June 28, 1998 at 6:23 Pacific time, with a starting minimum bid of $5000.00 by the original owner.
Seven days later, on July 5, 1998 at 6:23 Pacific time, the auction ended. The insulator sold for over $7200. The interested buyer did not have Internet access, and was having a friend bid for him. The insulator has since changed hands, and is now in the collection of Tom and Alice Moulton.
By far, this is the most expensive insulator to date that has sold on eBay!
