The winning ticket is...
How did we choose this number? It was computed from the opening price of the Toronto Stock Market on January 15, 2007 which was $12,696.92 or 1,269,692 in cents.
Raffle ticket numbers 1000 through 3042 were sold, which is a total of 2043 tickets (3042 - 1000 + 1). You take the remainder of 1,269,692 divided by 2043 which gives you a number between 0 and 2042 which is 989. You add 1000 to that which gives a number between 1000 and 3042. Thus the winning ticket number is 1989 !! See Google do this calculation of the winning ticket. And the person with the winning ticket Claude Wambold of Perkiomenville, PA Many of you may know Claude, as he and Steve Bobb host the Pennsylvania Insulator Show and Picnic in the fall, and often host the summer Insulator and Bottle Show in that area as well. He has been an ICON member since October 2002, and NIA #1717 and has been active in the hobby for many years! Why was the opening price of the Toronto Stock Market used? Because the US markets are closed on Monday, January 15, 2007 in observance of Martin Luther King day. Return to the ICON Raffle page Written Monday, January 15, 2007 |
