Repairing an Insulator

Saving a Small Piece of History

I had the unique opportunity to repair an Emminger following the Eastern Regional last year.

After removing the old repair, I had to build up clay for the missing parts.

The embossing came from the mold I took off another Emminger at the show.

Once the clay repair was complete, I poured a rubber mold.

I then mixed and poured the casting resin into the mold with the Emminger in place.

The final product, while not perfect, was a vast improvement.
