This is a picture of the original Rossland substation. This substation would feed the Gold mines and community of the Rossland area. The U-934 and U-935 Imperials are mounted in openings on the front of the substation where the 20KV feed comes in. The stepped down voltage, which fed the distribution circuits (probably 2400V), came out of the back of the substation. If you look close you can see a structure on the left of the substation wall. My guess is that these insulators are Fred Locke U-939 and U-941B. Taken in the late 1890's |
