This photo is of the 1500 ft Columbia River crossing structures. The picture was probably taken around 1906, as the 60KV lines with M-4321 are present. The original "one" and "two" lines are built on the same roofed structure in the center of the photo. You can see they had used U-934 and U-935 Imperials as well as U-964 Victors. These large structures were to carry the large weight of the conductor spanning over the Columbia River. The conductor was not dead-ended like you would see on present line construction. If you look close, at the bottom left of the photo you can see the Columbia River. |
