I don't think that this one was used in a series lighting environment; unless the whole city was on one circuit. Actually, this one came from an industrial plant in southwest Pennsylvania. Note the CD 155 to compare to the wire size. Now, think of the effort that was used to bend the wire though and around the insulator.
