Here's a unique piece! Joe Maurath, Jr. has had this piece in his collection since the 1960s and believes it came from the Armstrong Cork Company in 1967 when he wrote them for samples. And what weird stuff he got from their archives! As you can see this insulator has a "drip point" nestled and "dripping" from between the inner skirts protruding downwards. And to top that off, this "effect" is conveniently showing front-row-center with the embossing! And I am not through yet! The base rim looks like it was precision ground (uniformly all-around) as if a jeweler did it! Maybe this was done to polish away the "drip" beyond the base rim? The above photo shows this detail. Wow! What an oddity! And a neat peach color/mint condition to boot. I will add another picture of this unique piece soon! |
