This insulator was acquired by Joe Maurath, Jr. at a Capital District Insulator Club show (I think that's right!) which was held in Albany, NY in October or November 1975. Joe drove nearly 4 hours to get there and finally arrived about 1PM. As he was saying hello to everybody, he noted this jewel on a dealer's table (he forgets who!). Needless to say, Joe bought the piece...for a paltry $75.00! Joe adds that this insulator probably sat there all day unsold. That will give you an idea of all of the other awesome stuff that was available at shows in those days! Yeah, the shows had some incredible insulators and so did the pole lines. Wow! What a time to have been in the insulator hobby!
