Shown left to right are So. Mass. Tel.'s in light green (off-clear) tint; light green and aqua. During 1969 Joe Maurath, Jr. discovered a two-pin private telephone line near New Bedford, MA which had all sorts of insulators on it. Like a farmer's line! Scattered were about 25 or 30 So. Mass. Tel. Co. insulators. About two-thirds were aqua and the rest were clear (or clear-tinted). Joe believes that the majority of the So. Mass. Tel. Co. insulators in existence today passed through his hands (and those of a couple others who he shared the pickings with). Joe has no doubt that these insulators were made by Brookfield. Between the above three insulators and the other two shown within this album, Joe knows of no other colors.
