What is the difference between the CD 122 Hemingray-16 and the Hemingray-17? Well, a 1956 Hemingray catalog says

"Nos. 16 and 17 are identical except 17 has a 1/16" wider wire groove"

The width of the groove was probably increased to accommodate new wire ties.
