Here are two of our best finds from France; one that Guido nickname "the bottle" and the other one being an ancient Beznau. The rarest find without doubt is the Beznau. It sports a very long inner shell, covering almost all of the iron pin. Also, its shells are very thin and fragile, proving it is a very old piece. This prove also to be a very fragile construction, very prone to breaking due to cement expansion. My piece is a prove of that, as it have a very thin crack in the bottom skirt. We found only two of these Beznaus undamaged in the roof of a tunnel, and of the rest of them were only fragments. As you can see, they are covered with a layer of grey dust after all those years in the tunnel! Guido, who is very knowledgeable in insulators, have never seen one of these before in the "wild". For us, they are only known from old German literature. An exceptional find!!
