These are two CD 126 W. Brookfield's which were also found on the Central of Georgia Railway telegraph line running between Fort Valley, GA and Columbus, GA. The one on the left is a deep yellow-olive embossed "Pat March 20 1877 / W. Brookfield" on the front dome and "Pat Jan 25 1870 / Pat Feb 22 1870 / No 55 Fulton St NY". The one on the right has identical embossing and is a shade of 7-up green. Note - the March date insulator on the left is the same one shown in a previous picture. The one on the right is a more blue-green shade of 7-up and is loaded with milk. This is typical of the colored Brookfield's which were found on this line. Most had milk, cull stones, and there were many learners. The manufacturing quality on these Brookfield's was very poor. |
