This is a CD 126 which is skirt embossed "W. Brookfield (front skirt) / New York (back skirt)" in emerald green with amber swirls. There are no mould markings and this is a three piece mould. It was found on the Central of Georgia Railway telegraph line which ran South East from Fort Valley, GA to Perry, GA. I believe this was a more modern telegraph spur because there were no very old early telegraph insulators. There were a fair number of this insulator used, but the colors mostly ranged from light aqua to light limey green. This particular insulator was a unique find. I will also post a picture of the back of this insulator which shows a large metal staple in the glass. |
