This is a CD 162 signal in a nice medium green - actually more of a yellow green which was found on the Central of Georgia Railway telegraph line North of Macon, GA. The embossing is "Wm Brookfield (arch) / New York" on the front dome and "PATd Nov. 13th 1883" on the front skirt with a "1" mould mark on the top of the back dome. While not common, there were a number of CD 162 Brookfield insulators found on almost every section of the Central of Georgia Railway telegraph line. Most of the 1883 dated units were found in aqua with about seven or so found in various shade of light or medium green. In addition to the 1883 dated units, a number of CD 162 skirt embossed "Brookfield" insulators in various shades of aqua were also found. |
