This is a very nice CD 729 No Embossing that was "obtained" in Georgia. I was stationed at Robins Air force base from 1968 to 1972. A friend of mine collected bottles. I purchased this threadless from him along with a damaged 701.6 egg from him. He obtained both these insulators from another bottle collector he dealt with. Back than, bottle collectors did not care for insulators. The story was that both the CD 729 and the 701.6 were found in a dump area near an railway line East of Columbus, GA. This has to be the older Central of Georgia or maybe the old wagon road which followed the current road East and North to Macon, GA. Since I did not pick this insulator, I can only tell the story. I tend to believe that CD 729's in this color were used as I did find a threadless shard which is a piece of CD 729 and is almost this exact deep teal green / black glass color. |
