Line hunting (close call?)

Here is a suspension insulator almost buried in leaves and sticks. Two were seen at this location, with no trace of an expected third unit. (A return trip with a metal detector revealed no buried units.) This puzzling pattern of two units per pole was seen consistently along this line. The line was built for three phase power, which uses three conductors. Amazingly, on the return trip this exact spot had then been recently covered by a freshly fallen tree trunk!

These are now known to be Micarta-core suspensions insulators.
