The specimen on the left is the result of radiation exposure. It was recently exposed to a radiation source for the NIA Altered Insulators Educational Exhibit. The original color was medium aqua. Watch out for those too-good-to-be-true colors out there! The one on the right appears to be a new CD style, when in fact it is actually a stretched CD 170.1. The glass was a little soft when it was removed from the mold, creating its distorted appearance. This is a factory irregularity, not an alteration. |
