At the 2003 Springfield, Ohio Show, Wilkerson Glass demonstrated the techniques used for making glass insulators-on a miniature level. This process was not much different than that performed in the early glasshouses of the 1800s. This photo shows the miniature Hemi 42 mold being warmed prior to use on the upper rear of the furnace. In the background the Wilkersons are checking the consistency of the molten glass.
