Hewletts in Service

These Hewletts have been in service for about 76 years! The insulators are part of a strange setup. The 34.5kV line comes off of a river crossing( from the right of the picture) and instead of tying to a structure, it is tied to the Hewletts and then anchored to the ground. The line is jumpered "on the fly" to the three poles. In the background, you can see the brick power plant that was built in 1925 (Sterlington, LA). These insulators are about to be gone because the whole mess is going to be replaced.
