Besides the color, this one has a nice bubble near the base of the threads. Brookfield's purple period during the 45 Cliff tenure produced some really weird shades of sun colored amethyst. Like no other insulators ever made. Besides this 102, ... 126's, 133's, and 145's are all known in similar shades, the 145 being the most common of the lot. The colors of this group are affected hugely by what light they are viewed in. This insulator washes out to a chalky, Necco candy-like purple color in sunlight, but in refracted light like the shine off snow makes it look a deep grape juice shade. |
