The walk-in insulators were just incredible and cause quite a stir at the show. Most were consigned to the silent auction. Here is the strange wooden insulator that came out of the Oakland dump that I previously reported. This insulator has no pinhole and is not lignum vitae, that the San Francisco Woods were made of. One observer suggest it was a strain insulator; Fred Padgett thought it was manufacturing reject that got dumped.... but why the wire? The seller had three of them. I ended up with one of them.
