A double dead end using good old porcelain suspension insulators. The 1911 line was built with Austin Patent suspension discs. They were very fragile and many were replaced. This tower has 2 Austins that I can spot and maybe more. Notice the dark, thin disc in the middle of the upper left string and another Austin in the center of the right middle string. Plenty of rust on this tower, all those years in wet Oregon shows! The towers are spaced 500 feet apart and are mostly 75 ft. tall. It is so well constructed that P.G.E. is reluctant to get rid of it. Yes, to most folks it's downright UGLY!
