Been asked to show the differences between the large and small mold Hemi No.8's, particularly the blot-outs. Capturing these blots with a camera has proven difficult. They are fairly subtle and have been re-engraved over the top with the emb'g you see. This first photo shows two that appear to be from the same mold, however the blots seemed to have gained a few *lumps* above and below the "G" on the clear one. Also the "8" on the clear one has an incomplete top loop, where the aqua one is closed. Looking at the rather crudely engraved letters and numbers though, they otherwise seem a dead-match for peculiar characteristics. Note the blot circle under the "M" on the aqua unit. The light catches it just right to show. There are no less than 7 of these circular blots on these under/behind the embossing, some high, some low. Part of another circle can be made out around the top part of the "R" on the clear one, and part of another to the right of the "8" cam be seen on both.
