You don't want to climb for these :-O

Here is a selection from my ever-growing collection of modern high voltage line equipment. All but the grey Chance post were liberated from Pat Scott's collection. :-)

From left to right:

LAPP 35KV post-type insulator.

Pair of Ohio Brass dead-ends.

Chance 2600 post-type insulator.

Ohio Brass 9KV lightning arrester with rubber fins.

You definitely don't want to climb poles or towers for these. People make poor arc lamps. :-)

One other thing...those post type insulators weigh around 25 pounds each. Try climbing down a pole with two ladies bowling balls taped together, and that's about what it would be like. And you can't throw a porcelain object of this mass off the top of a pole without it exploding into hundreds of little pieces at the bottom.
